We debuted the first Look Book for Eve in Eden just a few weeks ago, and talented photographer Eric Rose has shared with us more images from that lovely day – enough for a second look at what’s to come from Eve in Eden.  This collection of images is so filmic and reminds us of glamorous silent film era brides, a theme no doubt amplified by the beautiful theater in which these photos were taken.  Enjoy!

This look book was shot at The Crystal Ballroom by photographer Eric Rose with models Annie Montgomery, Haley Robison and Lyla Rokoff.  Art Direction by Cindy Rokoff.  Styling and set design by Carlie ArmstrongJesseca McCloskeyBrehan Todd and Marika Emerson.  Hair by Jessica Adams, Makeup by Marta Heitz.  Gowns by Urchin Redesign and Eve in Eden vintage.  Jewelry by AcanthusAy MariekeBrehan ToddDemimondeJesseca Anne, Kiowa Rose and Sahlia.  Shoes provided by Solestruck.

Many incredibly talented ladies and one (incredibly out-numbered) man lent their hands to making this shoot a success. We were happy to include some familiar faces from our Fall 2011 Look Book: Annie Montgomery, the photographer then, is the model now.  Former behind-the-scenes photographer Anja Verdugo acted as lead photographer, models Consuelo Wise and Marika Emerson helped style along with last year’s stylists Brehan Todd and Jesseca McCloskey.  And of course, proprietress Cindy Rokoff furnished the incredible vintage goods, props and acted as Art Director.

Art direction: Cindy Rokoff

Lead photographer: Anja Verdugo

Behind-the-scenes and detail photographer: Carlie Armstrong

Models: Annie Montgomery and Haley Robison

The Contemplative by Alexander Rokoff

The Recipient by Alexander Rokoff

Last year’s trip to the woods to shoot Eden’s very first Look Book was a really magical day for all involved – marked by kinship, collaboration, a truck full of easygoing ladies, wilderness exploration, fancy clothes and jewelry and lots of champagne.  Naturally, we’re really keen to get most of that same team back together (along with a few new faces) to produce a second Fall Look Book!

The photographer from last year’s shoot, Annie Montgomery (who’s also the talent behind one of our favorite jewelry lines, Pure Jewelry) will be one of this year’s models, shot in turn by talented photo team Anya Verdugo and Carlie Armstrong (Anya took these lovely behind-the-scenes photos last year.)  We’ve got a handful of people working behind the scenes, including several other Eden jewelry designers and shop girls, and the whole thing is being handily orchestrated by proprietress Cindy.

What about the location?  We’re very excited to be packing up our gypsy wagon and heading east to the Falcon Art Community artist studios.  Artist Alexander Rokoff has kindly agreed to allow us to use some of his beautiful large-scale oil paintings to add some incredible dimension  to our wild-posh aesthetic.  Care to see some of our inspiration?  We’re thinking feathers, fur, soft velvets and shiny, shimmery fabrics plus heaps of flowers, fruit – a cornucopia for the senses, if you will.

Happy Friday! We’re holding out for summery days (we’ve gotten a few teasers, but we know the really good weather is still around the corner.)  It’s been great to see shoppers coming into the store wearing summery looks and brightly patterned clothes (even if they’re currently layered up a bit more than they will be in a month.)  Want some pattern inspiration?  Your wish is our command:

All above images are snippets of embroidery, bead-work, patterns and textiles at Eden.  Kimonos, lingerie, blankets, carpets, pillows, bags, dresses, costumes, scarves and more… if you’d like an even larger dose of color and pattern, stop by the shop!

Eden opened doors last May in Portland’s Pearl District, and we’re pleased to announce we’ve just had a first birthday!  We’ll be throwing a party in celebration this week to coincide with First Thursday.

We’re also really excited that our next door neighbor Porch Light will be joining the fun and throwing their one-year anniversary party the same night!  Two stores, two parties, plus drinks, music, sweets and  plenty of shopping.  We hope to see you there!
